ABOUT DAFY GAMING HUB
A GAMING BLOG WITHOUT THE CORPORATE FILTER
Dafy Gaming Hub (Dafy’s gaming blog) is a personal PC gaming website created by its main author and owner, Dafy, in December 2024. Here you’ll find mod lists, guides, game reviews, screenshots and more.
The blog follows one simple rule: every article is based on the personal gaming experience and opinions of the blog’s author, Dafy, or other writers who choose to publish their work here. Posts explore mechanics that often go unnoticed, mod guides and tactics tested firsthand rather than repeated from someone else’s account. Game reviews share personal impressions and emotions.
PRINCIPLES
Editorial policy and independence
Let me clear something up. There are no paid game reviews on Dafy Gaming Hub: I buy 95% of the games myself on Steam or GOG. If a developer sends me a review key, I always disclose it at the beginning of the article.
I don’t take publisher-funded press trips or sign restrictive nondisclosure agreements (NDAs). That leaves me free to criticize broken mechanics and call things what they are. The blog runs on affiliate programs, voluntary reader donations, advertising and, above all, my enthusiasm. I write what I think, without letting other people’s opinions or money dictate it.
GROWTH
The history of Dafy Gaming Hub
This has been a passion project from day one. It’s been exciting to watch it grow and connect with other gamers. What started as a simple idea has become a lively community. Here are the key milestones:
EXPLORE
What you’ll find on this site
I specialize in RPGs, sandbox games, RTS games and MMORPGs. I try to skip forgettable, overhyped releases and focus on games that personally interest me.
I write frankly and honestly, and put together lists of the best games. I don’t inflate scores or hide my opinions. This is 100% gonzo journalism: my views and emotions rather than a dry rating.
Playing on PC without mods feels strange these days. My guides explain how mods change gameplay, visuals or the rules of a game, rather than simply listing download links.
Only things that actually help you play better: complex systems explained, early-game survival and hidden mechanics. Useful knowledge you can put into practice right away.
I show games as they look while playing, rather than using promotional images. I capture epic views and everyday moments from my playthroughs.
A character starts with a name, before you even choose a build. In my spare time, I create generators for my favorite games and universes. Take a look; you might find them useful too.
CREDIBILITY
How I approach each article
These days, it’s common to rush out reviews based on first impressions for quick launch-day views. I don’t do that. An article won’t go live until the Steam counter shows at least 80 hours. That’s usually enough to get past the story’s introduction and see the real gameplay loop.
My 480 hours in Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord or 230 hours in Kenshi weren’t logged just to make my profile look impressive. Big RPGs often fall apart halfway through. My job is to tell you honestly whether a game’s ending is worth the dozens of hours it takes to reach it.
FOUNDATIONS
The blog’s gaming principles
All of my content rests on a clear understanding of game design fundamentals. I judge games against a few firm criteria:
Even the most advanced Unreal Engine 5 graphics won’t save a game if there’s nothing to do. Graphics come second.
Good sound and a dark atmosphere matter. But a dull gameplay loop will quickly kill interest in even the most beautiful game.
Real difficulty demands careful planning and a grasp of timing. Throwing a damage sponge with a million hit points at you is a sign of lazy design. If player choices make no difference, the system is broken.
These ideas underpin everything I publish here on Dafy Gaming Hub: every review, guide and analysis.
