If Skyrim is a little too grim and a little short on anime, these ten mods should help. There are hairstyles, eyes, weapons from Bleach and Sword Art Online, and openings to replace the Bethesda intro. You can find other categories on my Skyrim mods page; here, we’re building an anime-inspired setup.
Simple anime hair SMP
A small collection of anime-style hairstyles with SMP physics. The textures are not especially high-resolution, as the author notes, but preconfigured collisions give the hair natural movement.

- anime hairstyles with hair physics
- ready-made collisions to which you can adjust the body model
Requires FSMP – Faster HDT-SMP and RaceMenu for hair physics. Different face shapes can cause clipping, which may need manual XML adjustments for your model.
✅ Visual changes: Gameplay stays the same, but your character finally gets hair that does not look frozen in 2011. A useful starting point for an anime look.
ChrisRichardz Anime Eyes — AE port
This mod brings to the Special Edition a set of eyes from famous anime: Death Parade, Tokyo Ghoul, Code Geass, One Punch Man, D.Gray-Man, Death Note and Soul Eater. It was originally made for the original Skyrim, and this port simply adapts the textures for the SE engine.

- eyes of Tokyo Ghoul characters (including Kaneki)
- Geass from Code Geass, including variants for different characters
- Shinigami eyes from Death Note
- eyes of Genos from One Punch Man and Allen Walker from D.Gray-Man
Installation is straightforward: extract into Data or use a mod manager. No extra configuration is needed.
✅ Visual changes: No effect on combat, but you get the distinctive eyes that often define these characters. The author lists the anime each option comes from, so there is no need to guess.
Rafael’s Weapon Pack
A Special Edition port of thirteen items Rafael De Jongh originally made for Skyrim LE. It brings together craftable weapons from several anime and offers the broadest weapon selection here.

- Zangetsu and his Bankai and Fullbring forms from Bleach
- Hei’s dagger from Darker Than Black along with his mask
- Elucidator from Sword Art Online
- Levatein from Hagure Yuusha no Estetica
- a few more swords and daggers from lesser-known titles, including Book of Bantorra
Craft the items at a standard forge under the relevant material category, from ebony to iron. No separate configuration plugin is needed.
✅ Gameplay changes: Recognizable weapons with useful damage stats rather than a full balance overhaul. A convenient way to give a katana user or two-handed battlemage a distinct look without complicated crafting chains.
Megumin Weapon and Spell
A small but truly complete mod: it adds Megumin’s staff from Konosuba and her signature explosion spell with sound effects in Japanese. The spell charges for about half a second, and then destroys everything in the radius with one hit.

- Megumin’s staff with unique texture
- explosion spell with Japanese voice acting when charging and triggering
- consumption of all 3000 charges of the staff in one use
The staff and spell tome are beside the statue in front of the College of Winterhold. No need to search the whole map.
✅ Gameplay changes: For those moments when you want to erase everything nearby with one button. You can indulge once in a playthrough. The author suggests a female character so the voiced lines fit.
Strange Runes
Not strictly an anime mod, but glowing runic circles around your hands make spellcasting look closer to Fate or Sword Art Online. More than 55 rune types are selected automatically to match the spell.

- runic circles for normal and dual casting
- there is support for the Russian language, this is confirmed on the mod page
- immediate compatibility with Apocalypse, Mysticism, Arcanum and a number of other magic mods
- separate textures for ENB lighting
Requires Spell Perk Item Distributor, Address Library for SKSE Plugins and powerofthree’s Papyrus Extender version 4.5.2 or later. Without them, the circles will not appear.
✅ Visual changes: A mage’s gestures gain the ritual-like effects familiar from anime spellcasting. NPCs get the runes too, so the effect carries through the whole fight.
Naruto Eyes (Erin Race)
The mod adds eyes from Naruto for the Erin race: Sharingan, Mangekyo Sharingan, Rinnegan and Byakugan in different variations. The author enlarged the image of the Rinnegan to the maximum so that the detail of the iris would not be lost on the small character model.

- Sharingan and its advanced form Mangekyo
- Rinnegan with enlarged texture
- Byakugan, with groundwork for more dojutsu
The author invites suggestions in the comments and offers to make more eye variants on request. It is a recent project, so further additions are possible.
✅ Gameplay changes: this does not affect the mechanics, but for the Erin race you get recognizable dojutsu without third-party texture editing. Keep in mind that the mod is designed specifically for this race, and is not universal for any eye model.
Anime Music Epic Combat Replacer
Replaces combat music with anime soundtracks and similarly styled royalty-free tracks: 46 for ordinary fights and 28 for dragons. The selection avoids repetition, so one theme does not wear you down within an hour.

- 46 tracks for ordinary combat encounters
- 28 tracks separately for encounters with dragons
- selection without rap, emphasis on fantasy sound
✅ Audio changes: Fights sound closer to a shonen opening than the usual Jeremy Soule score. The developer recommends the main file plus the optional dungeon music rather than the combat version alone.
SE Skyrim Anime Opening — Guilty Crown
Replaces the Bethesda logo intro with a Guilty Crown-style opening made for the author’s Dragonborn screenshot series. Choose a 23-second cut or the full ninety-second video.

- replacing the opening video with an anime opening
- two length versions to choose from
- separate video for Dawnguard owners
Possible conflict: The original intro music can play over the video while ENB shaders load. There is no fix for this yet.
✅ Presentation changes: Gameplay stays the same, but launching Skyrim feels different. A quick way to set the tone from the first second.
MAIN MENU ULTIMATE ANIME OPENING COLLECTION (more than 30 openings)
Adds more than thirty openings and endings from JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, Overlord and Bleach to the main menu while your heavy modlist loads. A random video plays each time you start.

- all parts of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, including fan openings
- Overlord opening and ending themes from several seasons
- Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War openings and original series
- additional video with ambient music by Jeremy Soule
Requires Main Menu Video. The author also distributes the large video files through Mega because of Nexus upload problems. Copy them manually into Data\MainMenuVideo.
✅ Presentation changes: Watch openings instead of staring at the menu while the game loads. The author warns of spoilers for all three series. If you have not finished Bleach or JoJo, stop playback with Backspace before it spoils anything.
Strange Runes retexture
A set of new textures for Strange Runes that remakes all 34 runic patterns of the mod. If the main Strange Runes gives the effect of magic circles, then this mod changes their visual style to a more elegant and detailed one.

- new textures for all 34 types of runes
- compatibility with the SkyrimVR version of Strange Runes, although the author honestly admits that he has not tested it personally
- you need to select only one main file during installation so that there are no conflicts
When updating, first remove the old version of the mod and only then install it again – textures may not be applied correctly over the old version.
✅ Visual changes: A good companion to Strange Runes if you like its magic circles but want cleaner, more detailed patterns with a stronger anime look.
How to install mods correctly
Most of the mods in the collection are simple and do not require a conflict manager, but a couple of points are still important.
- Install dependencies such as FSMP, RaceMenu and Papyrus Extender before the mods that need them, or the game may crash at startup.
- Do not install Strange Runes and its retextures with several file options at the same time – select one main file.
- For mods with videos (screensavers and main menu), check the exact name of the destination folder; an extra letter or space in the path breaks playback.
Should you install everything or pick a few mods?
Hair, eyes and weapons can work together, but choose your intro videos and combat music more carefully. SE Skyrim Anime Opening and MAIN MENU ULTIMATE ANIME OPENING COLLECTION serve the same purpose, as do competing music replacers.
Strange Runes and its retexture are a pair designed to be used together.
Know a mod that belongs here? Send it my way. I’ll test it and consider adding it to the list.
