12 Kenshi Slavery Mods 🎮 2026

Kenshi slavery and slave-management mods

Slavery is an established institution in Kenshi. The vanilla system feels a little like looking through a window: you can watch it happen and interact with it on a basic level, but you cannot really get your hands dirty. The system exists; the depth does not.

These Kenshi slavery mods add systems, consequences, and new roleplaying options. Whether your goal is to become the greatest liberator of the wasteland or to build an empire on the backs of others, this list has the tools to help you achieve it.

Players Slavery

Ever wanted to build a slave-trading business from scratch? In vanilla Kenshi, NPC factions hold the keys to that "business," while the player remains locked out. This mod changes that. You can capture, "process," and exploit slaves just like the United Cities magnates.

Screenshot of the Players Slavery mod: a group of shackled prisoners are running through the desert.
  • Crafting: Craft Slave Rings and shackles.
  • Capture: Enslave an enemy as soon as you put them in a cage.
  • Management: Slaves can be forced to work, guard the territory, follow you, or even be recruited into a squad.
  • Infrastructure: Adds special buildings for slaves (marked with an asterisk *).
  • Economy: The selling price of a slave has been increased from 400 to 800 Cats.

✅ How it changes gameplay: The mod completely changes the perception of enemies. A crowd of hungry bandits is no longer a threat, but free labor for your mine. A new layer of gameplay appears: you need to think about security, logistics and what kind of leader you want to be.

Player Slave Owning

If the micromanagement from the previous mod seems too much to you, try this option. It's simpler, more direct, and focuses less on building a business empire and more on the utilitarian ownership of slaves.

Player Slave Owning mod: player base filled with cages with prisoners.
  • Allows you to capture and use slaves for the needs of the faction.
  • Prisoners can be assigned to any job on the base.
  • Uses the same tagged building system for tasks.
  • Pairs perfectly with the Slaver starting scenario.

✅ How it changes gameplay: A simpler route to free labor: capture someone, put them in a cage, and send them to work. A straightforward cycle if you want results without extensive crafting or configuration.

Kodaxmaxs Slavery Overhaul

This mod takes a broader view of the issue, making slavery an important and profitable part of the world's economy. Moreover, this becomes beneficial for both slave traders and liberators.

  • Chance to Join: Freed slaves are now much more willing to join your squad.
  • Living World: Squads of slave traders begin to roam around the map.
  • Profit: Traders buy slaves for a substantial 2,500 Cats.
  • Realism: Improved prison escape mechanics.

✅ How it changes gameplay: Both sides of the conflict become more interesting. Freeing slaves feels worthwhile when they actually join you, while higher sale prices make manhunting a full career, however dirty. Slavery becomes a dynamic part of the economy rather than background scenery.

Slaver Action Pack

A choice for roleplayers, with less time spent on complicated tables and more direct action.

  • Adds mechanics for directly capturing slaves
  • Designed for roleplaying scenarios
  • Provides basic functionality for managing a small gang of slave traders.

✅ How it changes gameplay: The mod allows you to personally participate in the process, select and capture future workers right on the battlefield. This is a very practical tool that adds “action” to the everyday life of a slave trader.

Easy Slave Recruitment for Living World

Tired of wasting time freeing a slave, making pompous speeches about freedom, and then watching him run off into the sunset and die in the jaws of Skimmer? This mod fixes the absurdly low recruitment chance.

  • Chance to join: Increased from 30% to 100%.
  • Fewer restrictions: Removes the requirement that you must never have spoken to the NPC before.
  • Limits: The limit on squad size when recruiting has been removed.
  • Important: Requires the Living World mod to work.

✅ How it changes gameplay: Freeing slaves becomes a reliable way to replenish the army. It's no longer a lottery where you risk time and first aid kits for the sake of a "thank you." Now you're actively building a team, and playing as an abolitionist brings real rewards.

Guaranteed Slave Recruits

For slave owners who still have a heart, or something resembling one. Buy a slave, and this mod guarantees they join your squad instead of following you for five minutes and disappearing.

  • Guarantee: 100% chance that the purchased slave will join you.
  • Dialogue: Text has been modified to accommodate the changes.

✅ How it changes gameplay: Buying slaves stops being random. Spend Cats and get what you paid for. Fair enough. Recruiting through purchase becomes a predictable, straightforward transaction.

Recruitable Prisoners

A true classic. The mod opens up a giant recruiting pool for anyone you can cram into a cage. Talk to the prisoner, and with the right skill (or luck) you will convince him to change sides.

  • Recruitment: Straight from the cage through dialogue.
  • Conditions: The chance of success depends on the faction, character and status of the NPC.
  • Scale: Works with a huge number of NPCs, including some unique bosses.

✅ How it changes gameplay: The meaning of building a prison completely changes. Now it is not just a place to store enemies, but a recruiting center. Defeated a strong enemy? Now you have a choice: let him rot or turn him into your best fighter.

Recruit Prisoners for Cats

If the previous mod seems like cheating to you, try this one – it adds balance. The prisoner's loyalty will have to be paid in hard cash.

  • Price: Recruitment costs money. The amount depends on the skills and faction of the prisoner.
  • Examples: An elite Shek warrior costs 30,000–40,000 Cats; a powerful Paladin costs 40,000–50,000.
  • Clarity: The dialogues clearly state when you have to fork out money.

✅ How it changes gameplay: An economic aspect appears. You have to think: is this recruit worth the money? Getting a powerful fighter feels like a serious investment rather than a lucky roll of the die.

Working Slave Camps

Have you noticed that the huge slave camps in the game don’t seem to produce anything? This mod forces supervisors to actually manage the workforce and processes.

  • Supervisors manage production chains, transferring resources between stations.
  • Merchants appear in camps selling manufactured goods.
  • Camps accumulate resources over time.
  • Expands the working radius of Stone Camp South to include the neighboring mine

✅ How it changes gameplay: Slave camps turn into living economic hubs. They no longer look like decorations, but feel like part of a global production machine. Trading with them (or robbing them) becomes much more interesting.

Rebirth Skeleton Slave

A simple but clever mod for unusual starts. It lets you choose a Skeleton for The Slaves game start and, crucially, allows guards to repair you.

  • Skeletons become selectable for The Slaves game start
  • Holy Nation guards can repair you with repair kits, preventing a softlock where you are too damaged to stand and nobody will heal you.

✅ How it changes gameplay: A complex and exciting scenario opens up. Escaping Rebirth as the Skeleton, a creature that Holy Nation considers absolute evil and hates with all its heart, is a completely unique experience.

Dehumanizing Slavery

Warning: This mod is not for everyone. It makes slavery in Kenshi as brutal, dark, and realistic as possible, with mature content and disturbing themes.

  • The mechanics of slavery become much more harsh and punishing.
  • Focus on dehumanization and the harsh realities of life as a slave.
  • Contains mature themes; enable the relevant content option in the settings

How it changes gameplay: Slavery becomes a traumatic fight for survival instead of a temporary inconvenience. This is for adults who want to explore the darkest corners of Kenshi's lore.

Reduced Risk of Shaving

Annoyed when your carefully designed character gets shaved bald the moment the shackles go on? This mod gives them a chance to keep their hair.

Reduced Risk of Shaving screenshot: a female character retains long hair despite being enslaved.
  • Automatic shaving has been replaced with a probabilistic system.
  • There is an option for all NPCs and an option that protects only player characters.

✅ How it changes gameplay: A simple cosmetic fix that many will appreciate. Gives more control over your appearance and removes a minor but constant irritant.

Slavery is more than just mechanics

The slavery system in Kenshi is a key part of the game. These mods deepen these mechanics, giving the player that freedom of action (or oppression) that has always been lacking. They allow complex stories to be told, be it the path of a cruel tyrant or a noble liberator, and make the world truly alive and frightening.

Before activating modifications, create a backup copy of your saves. Read more about this and other precautions in instructions for installing mods.

If you find something that I should have included in the list and it really improves Kenshi, write me, I'm always ready to test it. The main thing is that the mod does not kill the balance of the entire mod collection.
