Johnny Silverhand: a legendary rocker in Cyberpunk 2077 who simply will not shut up. Love him or hate him, he lives in V’s head for most of the game. You cannot evict him, but you can change his appearance, clothing, and even voice.
If you are tired of the same engram, these Johnny Silverhand mods let you customize the legend himself. This is one part of my ongoing project to create a complete collection of Cyberpunk 2077 guides and mods, and these are a great place to start.
PROJECT 2020 — The Second Edition
Let’s be honest: Keanu Reeves’ Johnny is cool, but for longtime fans, he is not quite that Johnny. This mod drops the Hollywood look and rebuilds him from scratch around the classic glam-rock aesthetic of the Cyberpunk 2020 tabletop game.

- Offers face and hairstyle options from different periods of his life, including the assault on Arasaka.
- Allows you to fully customize his appearance: face, hair and clothes.
- Aspires to an authentic look based on the original source.
✅ Gameplay changes: a major visual overhaul. Johnny looks like a completely different person, much closer to a chrome-obsessed, anti-corporate rock star from the ’80s. It changes the tone every time he appears, ideal for fans of the old-school lore.
Johnny Silverhand Is In His Thirties
Ever noticed Johnny looks a little weather-beaten for someone who died at 34? This mod gently rejuvenates his face, making him younger and less worn without losing the character’s essence.

- Includes a hand-edited face texture and normal map for his modern head model.
- Reduces the redness of the skin, burst capillaries and general roughness.
- Keeps quality details such as beard and eyebrows intact.
✅ Gameplay changes: subtle, but meaningful. He no longer looks as though he spent 50 years on the road, but like the young, angry idealist he was meant to be. It makes his appearance more believable for his age.
Johnny Silverhand (Keanu Reeves Edit)
So, you like Keanu Reeves, but think he could be… more Keanu? This mod is for you. It makes very subtle changes to Johnny’s face to strengthen the resemblance to the actor who plays him.

- Johnny’s facial features change slightly, especially around his eyes and nose.
- Makes him look more like the actor without a drastic overhaul.
- Simple installation, just drag and drop the files.
✅ Gameplay changes: fine-tuning rather than a complete redesign. You will catch yourself thinking, “Yes, that looks more like him.” For players who want to emphasize his resemblance to the actor rather than move away from it.
Silverhand Samurai Clothing incl. Aviators Johnny Glasses
If you want to steal Johnny’s style for V, this is the mod. It adds wearable clothing from his legendary band, Samurai, complete with the glitchy holographic effects you see on his engram.

- Adds his Samurai jacket, vest, pants, and boots for V to wear.
- Includes his signature red-lensed aviators.
- Even includes options for his holographic hand and facial texture for V.
✅ Gameplay changes: pure style. You can finally wear Johnny’s complete legendary outfit, rather than just the jacket. The holographic arm is a particularly nice touch for role-playing a character slowly being taken over by the engram.
SAMURAI Jacket for Johnny
It always bothered me that Samurai’s frontman rarely wears his band’s most iconic merchandise. This mod fixes that simple omission by replacing Johnny’s standard vest with the legendary SAMURAI jacket.

- Replaces Johnny’s vest with a Samurai jacket when his engram appears.
- Gives him his signature rockerboy look all the time.
- A simple visual change that makes a lot of sense to the character.
✅ Gameplay changes: it simply feels right. Seeing Johnny consistently wear his own jacket reinforces his identity and makes his appearances feel more authentic. A small change that adds plenty of immersion.
The Matrix 2077 — Johnny Silverhand
What if the rockerboy were also the One? This fun crossover replaces Johnny’s alternate DLC appearance with a look inspired by Neo from The Matrix.

- Changes his alternate outfit into a design inspired by The Matrix.
- Requires enabling his alternate appearance in the game settings.
- The perfect mod for fans of both cyberpunk worlds.
✅ Gameplay changes: pure, unapologetic fan service, and it is great. Seeing a glitching, Neo-style engram appear in your field of view is simply excellent.
Johnny Hair Edits
If you’re tired of Johnny’s standard haircut, this mod adds a couple of new, lore-friendly options with full physics.

- Adds two new hairstyles: “Fluffy” and “Undercut”.
- Hair has physics, so it moves realistically.
- The new styles are also available for male V.
✅ Gameplay changes: another great way to customize the engram. Changing Johnny’s hair can dramatically alter how you see him, and hair that actually moves adds a nice touch.
Johnny Silverhand Preset V2
This one is different. It changes V to look like Johnny rather than changing Johnny himself, using a character preset.

- Character preset file for use with Project CyberCAT save editor.
- Transforms your V’s appearance to match Johnny’s.
- It requires an external tool to be used.
✅ Changes in gameplay: It’s for role-playing. If you want to play as if Johnny has completely taken over the body, that’s the way to do it. Creates a very strange but cool dynamic in scenes where V and Johnny are talking to each other.
SHUT UP Johnny
Listen, sometimes you just want peace and quiet. After enough playthroughs, you may be tired of hearing the same lines again and again. This mod does exactly what it says on the tin: shuts him up.

- Removes all of Johnny’s voice lines from the base game and Phantom Liberty.
- Subtitles and dialogue options are still popping up, so you won’t miss the story.
- A simple mod for a more peaceful playthrough.
✅ Gameplay changes: the game becomes strangely serene. It offers a different, almost meditative experience where you can focus on the world and missions without Johnny’s constant commentary. Not for everyone, but an interesting way to replay.
Mod installation recommendations
Most are straightforward appearance mods, which usually makes installation simple.
- Read the descriptions! Always the first step. Mod authors will specify any requirements, such as Cyber Engine Tweaks, or conflicts with other mods.
- Simple archive installation: for most, extract the .archive file from the download and place it in Cyberpunk 2077\archive\pc\mod. Create the mod folder if it does not exist.
- Check the availability of special tools: A mod like the Johnny Silverhand Preset V2 requires an external tool (Project CyberCAT Save Editor). The mod page will always tell you what you need and how to use it.
I strongly recommend reading the Cyberpunk mod installation guide rather than doing everything by hand.
