In Vanilla Cyberpunk, you get the same acid rain, the same blinding sun, day after day. If you’re tired of predictable forecasts and want to shake up the city’s atmosphere, you’ve come to the right place.
These weather mods for Cyberpunk 2077 turn the concrete jungle’s climate into something more lively and unpredictable.
Enhanced Weather V6
This mod is for anyone who looks up at Night City’s sky and thinks “boring.” It solves the problem of limited environmental cycles in the game by adding a huge variety, making atmospheric shifts more natural and frequent.

- Adds more than 100 new custom atmospheric transitions, a huge leap over a handful in the vanilla game.
- Introduces entirely new states such as thick smog and tuned rain.
- Integrates climate patterns from the Phantom Liberty DLC into the main game.
- Customizes night lighting for a more realistic feel.
- Removes the default sharpening filter and vignette for a cleaner image.
✅ Gameplay changes: the city feels livelier. Thick, concealing smog, changing rainfall intensity, and varied conditions make the climate feel genuinely dynamic rather than a loop of presets. Even a simple drive becomes more cinematic.
Nova City 2 (custom weather and lighting)
Ever been blinded by the game’s sun? Who has not? Nova City 2 addresses that with a major lighting and exposure overhaul, removing excessive glare and adding numerous handcrafted weather scenarios.

- Includes an advanced exposure system that prevents too bright or too dark lighting.
- Includes more than 50 custom atmospheric states, each with unique particles and lighting.
- Specially designed to look best with Path Tracing enabled, although it works well without it.
- Integrates with Mod Weather Switcher for changes on the fly.
✅ Gameplay changes: excellent for screenshots and simply enjoying the scenery. You no longer squint when looking toward the sun. Custom conditions, especially storms, create moods the base game cannot match.
Preem Weather (lighting overhaul)
Think of it as a lighter Nova City: improved lighting and rebalanced weather probabilities without new weather states. Ideal for a more dynamic, attractive vanilla experience without extra complexity.

- Uses only base-game weather states for a simple, optimized experience.
- Modifies lighting, making it more realistic and balanced.
- Increases the likelihood of more interesting conditions such as rain and fog.
- Compatible with any Look-Up Table (LUT) mods you use.
✅ Gameplay changes: far more everyday variation. Sunny days do not last forever; clouds, rain, and fog appear more often. A simple change that does much to stop the world feeling frozen.
Weather Probability Rebalance
A focused, lightweight mod doing one job well: making different weather conditions occur more often. If you feel trapped in endless sunshine, this breaks the monotony.

- Changes the minimum and maximum duration of environmental patterns.
- It comes in three versions: Standard, Less Rain and More Rain, so you can choose to your liking.
- Reduces the frequency of endless sunny days.
- Ensures a transition to more interesting weather after a sunny spell.
✅ Gameplay changes: makes the system cycle through varied conditions rather than settling for yet another sunny day. The More Rain version can give Night City a genuine Blade Runner atmosphere.
Weathermancer — Weather Select Menu
Ever wanted to control the rain? Weathermancer adds a menu to choose any vanilla or modded weather state whenever you want. It also helps fix the common bug where weather gets stuck.

- Adds a menu to Cyber Engine Tweaks (CET) to manually select conditions.
- Includes all vanilla types and those from patch 2.0.
- Forces weather changes that would not happen naturally, such as rain in the Badlands.
- Supports custom weather states added by other mods.
✅ Gameplay changes: ideal for screenshot enthusiasts or anyone wanting a specific mood. Fancy a mission in thick fog or a downpour? Select it from the menu. The climate is in your hands.
Weather Switcher (weather change – time control – cloud adjustment)
A cousin to Weathermancer with more fine-tuning: change weather in real time, configure clouds, control the time of day, and apply a chosen state automatically whenever you load the game.

- It allows you to instantly change the atmosphere in real time.
- Includes a cloud configurator and a randomizer for each state.
- This includes controlling the time of day and the overall speed of the game.
- Automatically applies your chosen weather when loading the game.
✅ Gameplay changes: automatic application is excellent for role-playing. Set V’s Night City to permanent, gloomy rain and leave it that way. Cloud customization adds another layer of visual control unavailable elsewhere.
Weather Control Channel
For weather control that stays in character, this is excellent. A new phone contact, NC Weather Channel, lets you change the climate through a simple call.

- Integrates environmental control directly into the in-game phone system.
- You call the contact and select the right conditions from the menu.
- A very immersive, lore-friendly way of managing the environment.
✅ Gameplay changes: V makes a phone call to change the forecast instead of opening a debug menu. A small detail that feels surprisingly good.
Weather And Time Tools
Another powerful weather tool with extensive features. Control conditions through CET or the time-skip menu, and even synchronize in-game time with your PC’s system clock.

- Automatically detects installed weather states, including those from mods.
- Allows you to block the appearance of certain conditions of the environment.
- It allows you to set “favorite” conditions for quick access.
- Adds a transition slider to control the rate of climate change.
✅ Gameplay changes: blocking unwanted weather is particularly useful. Disable sandstorms or toxic fog entirely if you are tired of them. Time-skip menu integration is another welcome feature.
ENV Tuner (Weather — Lighting — Vignette Adjustments)
This is for perfectionists. It adds no weather states but gives extensive real-time control over rendering. Adjust exposure, shadows, bloom, and vignette on the fly without causing mod conflicts.

- Allows you to adjust shadows and highlights in real time.
- Provides detailed control over the intensity, color and size of the vignette.
- Allows you to fine-tune the effects of glow.
- It works at the rendering level, making it compatible with almost any atmospheric mod.
✅ Gameplay changes: fine-tune visuals to your taste. If a weather mod looks too dark or bright, ENV Tuner lets you correct it. Like having a miniature Photo Mode running all the time.
Nova Rain (and Improved Ripples)
Tired of the standard rain that looks like thick white stripes falling from the sky? Nova Rain replaces it with a subtle, realistic effect that really takes light and shadow into account.

- Replaces vanilla rain particles with a thinner and more realistic texture.
- Rain reacts to light and wind, making it more natural, especially at night.
- Designed to complement Nova City’s stormy weather, but also works very well independently.
- An optional file is available for improved ripple effects on water.
✅ Gameplay changes: purely visual, but a major difference. Rainy nights feel more authentic without white lines obscuring your view. Better ripples also add realism around puddles and water.
Mod installation recommendations
Most install by extracting the archive into Cyberpunk 2077’s root folder. Weather-control mods often require dependencies.
- Always check the requirements! Many need Cyber Engine Tweaks (CET), Native Settings UI, and Codeware. Make sure you have the latest versions of these tools installed.
- Read descriptions for conflicts. Mods that edit the same env files will not work together. Authors usually explain very clearly what their mod is and is not compatible with.
- Use Vortex Mod Manager if you prefer not to install manually.
Fine-tune Night City’s atmosphere your way
Choose based on what you want from the game: a full overhaul with new weather states, rebalanced probabilities for more rain, or complete control for the perfect screenshot. The appeal is that this list has something for everyone.
