10 Valheim Farming And Planting Mods 🎮 2026

Valheim planting mods: grids, automatic farms, berry gardens and mushrooms

Farming mods remove Valheim's main gardening chores. You no longer need to spend hours cultivating soil, planting carrots individually and waiting for crops. I have collected 10 options, from grid planting and scarecrow automation to berry gardens, a seed cart and a grumpy forest spirit.

LetItGrow

Ordinary crops grow slowly, and barley will not grow in the Meadows at all. LetItGrow completely reworks farming. By default, it makes growth 18 times faster and removes restrictions from unsuitable biomes, heat, cold and overhead roofs. The Scarecrow and Farm Silo harvest and replant automatically, even when you are across the map.

LetItGrow: an automatic Valheim farm with Scarecrow and Farm Silo.
  • Growth is 18 times faster, with a configurable multiplier.
  • Plants ignore biome, weather and roofing.
  • A timer above seedlings shows time until maturity.
  • The cultivator plants on a grid with green and red highlights.
  • The Scarecrow and Farm Silo automatically harvest and plant crops.
  • The cultivator can plant raspberries, blueberries, cloudberries, mushrooms, thistle, dandelions and ferns.

Install the mod on both server and client. G toggles the grid, while P changes the seed source, including the Farm Silo. Crucially, plant carrots themselves rather than carrot seeds. One carrot produces three new ones; seeds are simply wasted.

✅ How it plays: the farm runs autonomously. The mod advances time on an empty server and checks every scarecrow on the map. Administrators should watch Max Objects Per Site, initially 10,000 objects, to prevent giant fields from crashing the server. A great option for friends. BepInExPack Valheim is the only dependency. Version 0.2.9 works with Valheim 1.0.16.

Plantations

Running around the Meadows and Black Forest for wild berries and mushrooms gets old quickly. Plantations adds seeds and spores you can grow yourself. Plant a seedling with the cultivator and it becomes a bush producing repeated harvests. Mature plants remain in place and bear fruit regularly.

Plantations: grow berry bushes and mushrooms from seeds in Valheim.
  • Nine plants: dandelions, ordinary and yellow mushrooms, raspberries, blueberries, cloudberries, thistle, Smoke Puff and ferns.
  • Planting grids from 2×2 to 5×5, up to 25 plants at once.
  • Mass harvesting with Shift + E, with an initial six-meter radius.
  • Growth and harvest timers, optionally enabled for carrots, onions, turnips, barley and flax.
  • Configure crop yields, seed quantities and drop chances per plant.

Planting requires cultivated ground and enough space. Initial growth time matches the interval between harvests. Set 60 minutes, for example, and the bush grows for an hour, then produces fruit every hour.

✅ What changes in the garden: Plantations is incompatible with PlantEasily, so remove one of them. Loot and seed settings come from the server, while grids and mass harvesting run locally. Its wild-berry features overlap with LetItGrow, so choose one.

PlantCart

Manually planting huge fields is slow and tedious, especially when you already have a scythe for quick harvesting. PlantCart adds a sowing cart. Load seeds or vegetables, pull it over cultivated ground and it plants automatically as it moves.

PlantCart: a cart that plants seeds automatically in Valheim.
  • The cart plants automatically while moving.
  • An original 3D model changes appearance with its load and damage.
  • Haldor sells the Rusted Plow component needed for crafting.
  • Configure the recipe, inventory size, weight and durability.

The default recipe needs a workbench, 20 wood, 6 copper, 10 silver and 2 Rusted Plows. Haldor sells the component for 300 coins by default, only after Moder is defeated. The cart initially has three slots, and each planting costs one durability.

✅ How it plays: the tool only becomes available after Moder, so you cannot get it at the start. It runs on both client and server. Dependencies are BepInExPack Valheim and Jötunn 2.30.0. This is a very new mod, with only 42 downloads and no ratings, so add it to a large setup cautiously.

Sproti

If cultivating and harvesting sounds like too much work, delegate it to a forest spirit. Sproti adds a grumpy gardener living in a tree house by your garden. He plants seeds, gathers crops, cultivates soil and even grows trees. First, though, you must find and rescue him.

Sproti: a forest-spirit farmer and tree house for Valheim.
  • A tree house with two chests: seeds on the left and harvests on the right.
  • The spirit harvests crops and gathers wild berries, mushrooms and flowers.
  • Plants on cultivated soil within 10 meters, increased to 12 after upgrading.
  • Cultivates soil himself if you put a cultivator in the seed chest.
  • Runs a tree nursery using cones, acorns and seeds.
  • Upgrades increase work radius, expand chests to 24 slots and allow stumps to regrow.

Head to the Black Forest and destroy greydwarf nests: each has a 25% chance to contain a captive Sproti. Talk to him and every player within 50 meters learns his home recipe. Build it with the hammer using 25 ancient bark, 10 fine wood, 1 acorn and 2 bronze bars. Each player may have one house in the world.

✅ How the farm changes: install the mod on the server and for every player. Versions must match; 0.1 and 0.2, for example, cannot connect. The author warns that dedicated servers have not yet been tested. Sproti only gathers berries and mushrooms; plant those manually with something like PlantEverything. Dependencies are BepInExPack Valheim and Jötunn 2.27.1 or newer.

SeedBed

Enormous cultivated fields hurt FPS. SeedBed adds a planting station that requires no cultivated ground. Inspired by Enshrouded, the author hopes this will reduce farm-related performance problems. Place the station outdoors or indoors, in any biome.

SeedBed: a planting station that needs no cultivated soil in Valheim.
  • A plant-growing station without ground cultivation.
  • Works outdoors and indoors.
  • Configurable growth times, harvesting delays and crafting recipe.
  • Awards skill experience when farming and herbalism mods are installed.
  • ServerSync support synchronizes settings.

Install manually by placing SeedBed.dll in BepInEx\Plugins. Change settings through the configuration file or Configuration Manager.

✅ How it helps: only BepInExPack Valheim is required, with no extra libraries. The station replaces a whole planting bed, so you can fit a compact garden inside your house.

FarmHeim

The game lacks a complete farmstead with livestock and a mill. The extensive FarmHeim adds cows, goats, sheep, pigs, chickens and horses, plus cats and dogs. It also introduces 42 crops, fruit trees and a windmill. Its systems connect: animals eat and breed, grain becomes flour and ingredients become new dishes.

FarmHeim: livestock, orchards and a mill for a Valheim farm.
  • Eleven livestock and pet species, many with young.
  • Genetics: offspring coloring depends on their parents.
  • Animals sleep at night and eat from feeders in three sizes; cows and goats can be milked with a bucket.
  • Forty-two crops and four fruit trees: apple, pear, peach and pomegranate.
  • A windmill, butter churn and recipes for flour, cheese and sugar.
  • Dishes unlock with boss kills. Six mead types are included.
  • Furniture and rugs from 26 hide types. A Farmer shop and the trader Haakon appear in the Meadows.

Install it everywhere: server and clients. Haakon spawns in the Meadows 400–1,500 meters from the map center. To add him to an existing world, use Upgrade World and the farmheim console command, backing up your save first.

✅ Farmstead life: the mod carries a Paid label. Solo play is free, while multiplayer has special registration conditions. Food recipes depend on personal boss keys from Eikthyr to Fader; a friend's boss kill will not unlock your recipes. The package is large, and the author strongly recommends backing up your world before installation.

Farming

Vanilla farming means planting and harvesting each seed manually. Smoothbrain's Farming adds a farming skill: higher levels accelerate crop growth and improve yields. Progression unlocks convenient functions, and almost every parameter is configurable.

Farming: a farming skill for faster growth and better harvests in Valheim.
  • Faster crop maturation and larger harvests.
  • Mass planting and harvesting unlock at level 20 through Left Shift.
  • Growth progress appears over plants at level 30.
  • Biome restrictions disappear at level 50.
  • Left Ctrl aligns plants relative to one another.
  • Each skill level reduces planting stamina costs by 1%.

Server installation synchronizes settings for all players.

✅ How progression changes: Farming does not work with PlantEasily. PlantEverything has no critical conflicts, but their settings overlap, so decide which controls growth speed. Farming has a strong reputation, with more than 10,000 downloads and 24 ratings.

MyDirtyHoe

Creating a perfectly level field is difficult. MyDirtyHoe adds an advanced hoe that levels, raises and lowers terrain, builds ramps and paints soil in a click. It also plants items from its Planting category and displays a grid to ensure bushes have enough room.

MyDirtyHoe: a hoe for terrain, gardens and landscaping in Valheim.
  • Tools for leveling, raising and lowering terrain, creating roads and dirt paths.
  • Build ramps between two points, with configurable width and slope.
  • Ground painting and brushes for grass, bushes and water lilies.
  • Decorations: rocks, a koi pond and a frog.
  • A Planting section for seeds and saplings, a grid and Z to undo the last action.
  • Undo terrain changes with Left Alt + X; remembers five steps by default, up to twenty.

Craft the hoe at a workbench using 1 wood and 1 stone. Jötunn 2.30.2 is required. Magic Mike's settings panel opens with F7.

✅ How terrain work changes: it conflicts with Azumatt's NoHoeDust because the new hoe already removes dust. Its planting grid automatically disables itself if FarmGrid, Farm Grid Remake, Farming Grid or PlantEasily is installed. Crucially, do not uninstall after editing the heightmap. Enabling Heightmap and later removing the mod resets terrain changes and can collapse bases.

PlantEverything

Vanilla berries and mushrooms cannot be grown at home, and rare tree saplings are unavailable. PlantEverything replaces the old Planting Plus and adds 30 cultivator recipes. Plant raspberries, blueberries, cloudberries, lingonberries, three mushroom types, thistle, dandelions, ferns, Smoke Puff and Ancient, Ygga, Autumn Birch and Ashwood saplings.

PlantEverything: planting berries, mushrooms and saplings with the cultivator.
  • Thirty new cultivator plantings, with recipes unlocking when you first collect the relevant resource.
  • Plant in any biome; optionally disable cultivated-soil, open-sky and spacing requirements.
  • Timers over bushes and configurable maturation times, yields and sizes.
  • Small trees, bushes and vines become available through EnableMiscFlora.
  • Remove resources that repeatedly spawn at your base: branches, stones and flint.
  • Add any prefab to the cultivator menu through PlantEverything_ExtraResources.cfg.

Vanilla harvested bushes take several real hours to replenish. The author recommends reducing that interval. To remove an unwanted resource spawner, point the cultivator at it and press remove, normally middle mouse. Configuration is stored at BepInEx/config/advize.PlantEverything.cfg.

✅ How it works in practice: PlantEverything pairs well with PlantEasily. Farming and MassFarming have no critical problems, but FarmGrid needs configuration adjustments, and MassFarming cannot harvest berries or mushrooms. Install on server and clients for shared settings. Its wild-berry features overlap with LetItGrow and Plantations.

PlantEasily

Planting an even field by eye is almost impossible: seeds go crooked and bushes lack room. PlantEasily adds a convenient grid. Plants are spaced evenly, individually, in rows, columns or squares. A red outline warns when a crop lacks space, preventing wasted seeds.

PlantEasily: evenly spaced grid, row and column planting in Valheim.
  • Plant individually, in rows, columns or a grid of any size.
  • Change grid dimensions on the fly with Right Ctrl + arrow keys.
  • Hold Left Shift to snap to neighboring bushes or an existing grid.
  • Mass harvest with Left Shift + Use; even works on beehives.
  • Automatically replant after harvesting if seeds are in your inventory.
  • Random seedling rotation and offsets make fields look natural.

Client-side only; no server installation is needed. F6 toggles automatic replanting, F8 enables all features and F10 snaps seedlings to the grid. Servers using ConditionalConfigSync can enforce settings for everyone.

✅ How planting changes: incompatible with FarmGrid, MassFarming, Farming and Plantations. It does recognize PlantEverything's berries, flowers and mushrooms without trouble. This is a hugely popular mod, with more than 1.2 million downloads.

How to install the mods

Installation is standard, but watch dependencies and server requirements. Here are brief recommendations for this selection.

  • Back up your world. FarmHeim and MyDirtyHoe's authors explicitly request this.
  • Use Gale or r2modman and download BepInExPack Valheim. The manager installs required libraries automatically.
  • PlantCart, Sproti and MyDirtyHoe require Jötunn versions 2.30.0, 2.27.1 and 2.30.2 respectively.
  • Install LetItGrow, Sproti, FarmHeim and PlantEverything on server and clients. PlantEasily is client-side only.
  • Choose one planting-grid mod: PlantEasily, Plantations or LetItGrow. Remember that Farming conflicts with PlantEasily.
  • Launch once after installation to generate BepInEx/config files, then set your preferred growth speed.
  • Test everything on a copied save before entering your main world.

Which mod makes caring for plants easier?

For a multiplayer server, choose LetItGrow: its 18-times growth speed, scarecrow and silo handle the routine. For convenient planting without extra systems, pick PlantEasily. It runs client-side and has been used by a million players.

PlantEverything or Plantations makes growing wild berries and mushrooms convenient. For a complete farmstead with livestock and cooking, download FarmHeim, remembering its multiplayer restrictions. Sproti's spirit helps the less industrious gardener, while MyDirtyHoe suits anyone who wants attractive landscaping around their beds.

With your farming setup chosen, my guide to downloading mods for Valheim 1.0 will help you find the right platform before you start installing the files.
