Night City never stands still, and V should not fall behind either. If your chrome is starting to feel a little ordinary, you are in the right place. In this selection, we will look at the best cyberware mods for Cyberpunk 2077.
This list brings together my current favorites, all compatible with the latest patch. They will definitely spice up your next playthrough. Remember to check my main Cyberpunk 2077 page, where all my information about the game is collected. Let’s go!
Neuralware – Chipware Expansion
The base game’s chip selection is fairly limited. You install a couple and largely forget about them. Neuralware completely overhauls that system. It is more than a mod for cyberware slots: it turns the process into something more tactical and engaging, making your neural processor a crucial part of your build.

- Adds new cyberware: more than 40 new neural chips called chipware.
- Introduces Neural Capacity, so you cannot simply install all the strongest chips without considering balance.
- New types of chips: Reflex chips for active combat skills, memory chips that become stronger when used, and software chips that may have to be hacked.
- Special shops for buying equipment.
✅ Gameplay changes: instead of passive upgrades, your chips become a resource you manage. Balancing Neural Capacity to use powerful abilities at the right moment adds a layer of depth that feels as though it should have been there from the start. A game changer for builds that rely on more than raw firepower.
Black Chrome – Cyberware Expansion
Ever read the Black Chrome sourcebook for the tabletop game and wished you could use that equipment in-game? This mod brings in a range of lore-friendly, often illegal upgrades that give specialized builds wild new abilities.

- Adds 12 new custom implants inspired by the tabletop RPG.
- Includes an auxiliary frontal-lobe cyberdeck, letting you use Sandevistan or Berserk and keep your hacking abilities. Finally, a proper netrunner/solo hybrid.
- Toxic gas sprayer Skunk in case enemies get too close.
- Fortress Legs that make you even more impenetrable the faster you move toward the enemy.
✅ Gameplay changes: Black Chrome is about opening up new build possibilities. Illegal implants provide powerful advantages but demand significant sacrifices, making your choices at the ripperdoc more meaningful.
Raven Gemini II – Full Body Conversion Cyberware
For an ultimate themed build, Raven Gemini II is exactly what you need. This is not a collection of random pieces but a complete, synergistic cyberware range. An excellent cyberware expansion mod for players who love maximum optimization.

- Introduces a complete set of Gemini II cyber implants covering each slot.
- Includes the Interlink Attunement System. The more Gemini II parts you install, the more powerful each piece becomes.
- Each implant has unique stats and bonuses, but the real power comes from synergy.
- Designed for compatibility with most other mods, including arm and body cyberware mods, which is a major advantage.
✅ Gameplay changes: rewards commitment. You feel as though you are genuinely assembling a complete, top-tier cyborg. Watching synergy bonuses stack as you complete the set is incredibly satisfying, producing seriously powerful endgame builds.
Cyberware-EX – The Multi-OS and Expanded Slot Mod
Why choose between Sandevistan, a cyberdeck, and Berserk when you can have all of them? If you need more cyberware slots, Cyberware-EX is your choice. It changes vanilla restrictions so you can install multiple operating systems at once. A dream for min-maxers who want to remove the limits on their character’s capabilities.

- Unlocks new extra cyberware slots through perks or by paying a ripperdoc.
- Allows you to install and switch between multiple operating systems.
- Combine different leg and arm implants, such as using a Projectile Launch System and Mantis Blades together.
- The system is balanced through the cost of capacity and perks, so you don’t become a god overnight.
✅ Gameplay changes: pure freedom. This cyberware-capacity mod lets you make the versatile V you have always wanted. Want to slow time with a Sandevistan, then come out of it and shower everyone with quickhacks? Now you can.
SynthDose – More Drugs and Toxicity System
For players who want a darker and more dangerous Night City, SynthDose delivers to the fullest. It adds a whole new layer of resource management with combat drugs and a toxicity system that is directly linked to your implants.

- Adds 15+ new consumable drugs with powerful effects and unpleasant side effects.
- Introduces toxicity mechanics. The use of certain drugs and cyber implants accumulates toxicity, which can become fatal if not careful.
- New cyberware, such as the detoxifier module, helps manage toxicity and can even turn it into an advantage, such as healing.
- Highly customizable, so you can tweak the balance for yourself.
✅ Gameplay changes: Taking a powerful drug can turn the tide of the battle, but you should always monitor the toxicity counter. This makes the fight more frantic and strategic, and the new implants developed for this system are a great addition.
Stealthrunner – Stealth Gameplay Expansion
Stealth in Cyberpunk 2077 sometimes feels underdeveloped. Stealthrunner addresses that with a proper progression system, rewarding the playstyle with unique cyberware and perks.

- Adds a full perk tree for stealth.
- Adds new stealth objectives to gigs and missions, including Ghost, Pacifist, and more.
- Completing those objectives rewards you with XP, money, and exclusive crafting specs for iconic equipment.
- Unlocks new, powerful stealth-focused cyberware at ripperdocs as you prove your skills.
✅ Gameplay changes: gives stealth the depth it deserves. The exclusive cyberware you unlock makes you feel like a genuine stealth expert, and replaying gigs to complete every objective is surprisingly addictive.
Mod installation recommendations
Installing Cyberpunk 2077 mods is straightforward, but you will need some core tools first.
- Cyber Engine Tweaks: This is the foundation for many mods. A framework that allows other mods to function.
- RED4ext: Another important script extender that many newer, more complex mods rely on.
- Vortex Mod Manager: although you can install mods manually, I strongly recommend Vortex. It handles installation, load order, and removal, saving you hassle.
Always read mod page descriptions carefully. Authors list specific requirements and potential conflicts. It is the best way to keep gameplay smooth and avoid crashes.
Do these mods work with Phantom Liberty?
Compatibility is the main question, particularly with an expansion as substantial as Phantom Liberty. The good news is that the authors actively update every cyberware-expansion mod on this list, and they work with the latest game patch, including the DLC.
Still want more after installing these? Head to my comprehensive mod collection, which brings together everything for a complete transformation of the game.
If I missed a great mod that deserves a place here, feel free to write to me. I am always looking for new things to test, whether they increase the cyberware limit or change gameplay, and I will happily add anything worthwhile. Happy modding, choom.
