[All Free Cars & How To Get Them] 🚗 In Cyberpunk 2077

Where to find free vehicles in Cyberpunk 2077

Night City isn’t generous, but fixers, nomads and even Johnny’s ghost will give you excellent rides. No eddies required. We’re talking machine-gun spy cars, the fastest hypercar sitting in an actual Batcave, and a Porsche with more baggage than your last relationship.

Tired of spending 100,000 on cars, or want the satisfaction of earning a great ride through gameplay rather than grinding gigs for eddies? You’re in the right place. I’ve covered Cyberpunk 2077 base-game classics and Phantom Liberty vehicles: acquisition, requirements, locations and those “wait, you could really get them like that?” moments.

Free Phantom Liberty vehicles

Phantom Liberty brought Dogtown and Mr. Hands, a fixer who rewards loyalty with excellent cars. Four main free vehicles joined the game, fitting its spy atmosphere perfectly.

You’ll get stylish spy cars, combat vehicles with mounted weapons and one basic Dogtown runabout that Mr. Hands practically throws at you as soon as you enter his territory.

Quadra Sport P-7 “Sterling”

Gray Quadra Sport P-7 Sterling spy car from Phantom Liberty, parked in the Badlands.
Quadra Sport P-7 “Sterling,” the shark-like spy car awarded for completing Mr. Hands’ Dogtown gigs.

Sterling is arguably the crown jewel of Phantom Liberty’s free cars. Gray, shark-like styling, dream handling: something James Bond would drive in 2077. It directly references spy thrillers and Archer, with smooth lines, excellent handling and a 158 mph top speed.

You’ll take the long way through Dogtown just to feel how it corners.

How to get Sterling:

  1. Complete all 10 Mr. Hands gigs in Dogtown. All 10, not some.
  2. Wait for Mr. Hands to contact you after the final gig.
  3. Accept his Heavy Hearts invitation for Hi Ho Silver Lining.
  4. Finish the quest. Sterling is parked outside as your reward.
  5. Collect it to add it permanently to your vehicle list.

Herrera Outlaw “Weiler”: my favorite

Herrera Outlaw Weiler, a free weaponized spy car in Cyberpunk 2077.
Herrera Weiler, the sleek weaponized spy car earned through El Capitan’s vehicle contracts.

Weiler feels like Sterling’s combat counterpart: sleek black body, BMW-like grille, front machine guns and some of the game’s best handling. Bulletproof tires and armor make it ideal when stealth isn’t on the agenda.

CD Projekt clearly designed a proper spy car with protective features that matter in combat.

How to get Weiler:

  1. Progress through Phantom Liberty until vehicle thefts unlock after Spider and the Fly.
  2. Complete 6 El Capitan vehicle contracts, marked with blue steering wheels.
  3. After contract 6, El Capitan offers Baby Let Me Take You.
  4. Complete the truck heist, counted as contract 7.
  5. Herrera Outlaw Weiler is awarded free afterward.

Makigai Tanishi T400

Makigai Tanishi T400, Mr. Hands' free Dogtown car.
Mr. Hands’ Dogtown welcome gift: Makigai Tanishi T400. Not fast, but free.

Tanishi T400 won’t win beauty contests or speed records. Mr. Hands gives it automatically when you first enter Dogtown, essentially saying, “You’ll need something for all this vertical terrain.”

Its 95 mph top speed makes it this list’s slowest car, but it handles Dogtown’s odd architecture well enough. You’ll probably replace it once something better comes along. Still, it’s free and available when you need it.

How to get Tanishi T400:

  1. Progress through Phantom Liberty’s main story.
  2. Enter Dogtown for the first time during the main questline.
  3. Mr. Hands automatically provides Tanishi T400.
  4. It’s added to your garage without further action.

Quadra Sport P-7 “Charon”

Quadra Sport P-7 Charon, a free Phantom Liberty muscle car.
Steal the high-tech Quadra Charon muscle car during Moving Heat.

The French spy car everyone asks about. First seen during I’ve Seen That Face Before, involving French netrunner twins Aymeric and Aurore. You even drive it by hacking from the trunk. A wild scene, after which the car disappears.

Or does it disappear? What if you could return and steal it properly later? That’s where Moving Heat comes in. It’s less a gift than an entertaining small heist you pull off with a mysterious netrunner.

How to get Charon:

  1. Wait for a mysterious message. Progress far enough beyond Firestarter, and an unknown netrunner called Ashlay contacts you. She knows you’re interested in the Cassel twins’ car. Your response matters. Be polite, cooperate and don’t be difficult. Accept her offer to start the mission.
  2. Enter the stadium garage. Ashlay sends Petrochem Stadium coordinates. Find the dataterm and elevator. She guides you by message and unlocks the lift down to the garage, acting as your eyes in the sky.
  3. Stealth is mandatory. This part is critical: do it quietly. Ashlay hacks cameras for you but makes clear that guns blazing and an alarm will make her furious. She’ll abandon you and alert every Barghest soldier nearby. Trust me, you don’t want that. A suppressed pistol and a few quiet takedowns are your best friends.
  4. Ride the Trojan truck. Once the first area is clear, a garage door opens for a truck. Don’t fight its guards. Sneak behind it, climb into the cargo bed and keep quiet. It’ll carry you deeper into the restricted area unnoticed.
  5. Claim your prize. The truck parks opposite Charon. Jump out, take the driver’s seat and enjoy Johnny Silverhand’s approval from the passenger seat. Ashlay’s final message asks you to wipe the onboard computer. Do that, and it’s officially yours.
  6. Leave slowly. Don’t get cocky. A checkpoint stops you on the way out. Wait patiently while a Barghest soldier scans the car, receives corrupted data and lets you through. Follow the route to Dogtown’s surface to finish.

One final touch: at speed, the car projects holographic flames onto its hood. A free high-tech muscle car with a good heist story. Hard to beat.

Free base-game vehicles

The base game still has absolute classics worth hunting, even if you’ve played since launch. These aren’t disposable rides. They’re tied to memorable quests, hidden locations and decisions that genuinely matter.

Rayfield Caliburn “Murk Mobile”

Rayfield Caliburn Murk Mobile, the free black Batmobile and fastest car.
Find the Batman-inspired Rayfield Murk Mobile hidden in a Badlands cave.

This is the big prize. Rayfield Caliburn Murk Mobile, Cyberpunk 2077’s fastest car, waits in a Badlands cave like an automotive Holy Grail. Everything references Batman: the Batcave-like location, Murk Man’s murdered-parents lore and jet-black paint that says “I am the night” without a word.

The container also holds special grenades and armor made by Mr. Ice. Its top speed exceeds 200 mph, making it absurdly fast. Handling takes practice because you’re essentially piloting a wheeled rocket. Once you adapt, nothing else compares.

How to get Murk Mobile:

  1. Complete Ghost Town with Panam. Helping or refusing both work.
  2. Reach Street Cred 40. The soft threshold is 35, but 40 is safe.
  3. Leave the Badlands completely and return to Night City.
  4. Skip 48-72 in-game hours, not real-world hours.
  5. Return to the cave south of the Aldecaldos camp, the tunnels containing Nash’s hideout.
  6. Look for a blue shipping container inside.
  7. Open it for the black Caliburn and Murk Man-themed equipment.

Common problems:

  • Empty container or no car? Check for Street Cred 40+ and wait at least 48 full in-game hours.
  • Still missing? Leave the area entirely and wait another day.

Interesting facts:

  • A direct Batman reference through the cave and Murk Man lore.
  • Paint is locked to black. Trying CrystalCoat produces a BIOS error notification.
  • The fastest car in the game.

Archer Quartz “Bandit”: Rogue’s reward

Orange Archer Quartz Bandit, Rogue's in-game vehicle reward.
Archer Bandit, Rogue’s free reward for professionalism during Ghost Town.

Bandit is an orange sports car with solid performance, Rogue’s reward for good judgment. The game never tells you a reward is attached. You simply choose what feels right, and later Rogue messages something like, “You acted professionally. Here’s a car.”

How to get Bandit free:

  1. Follow the main story to Ghost Town with Panam.
  2. The mission brings you into conflict with Nash.
  3. When Panam wants to kill Nash, refuse to help, prioritizing professionalism over revenge.
  4. Finish the mission normally.
  5. Wait for Rogue’s message, usually within a few in-game hours.
  6. Archer Quartz Bandit is added as Rogue’s gift.

Alternative: Help Panam kill Nash, and Bandit becomes purchasable from Dakota Smith for 69,000 eddies later. Not permanently lost, just no longer free.

Johnny Silverhand’s Porsche 911 II (930) Turbo

Johnny Silverhand's Porsche 911 II (930) Turbo parked in the desert.
Collect Johnny Silverhand’s Porsche 911 Turbo during Chippin’ In.

Johnny’s Porsche 911 II (930) Turbo is arguably the game’s most iconic car. The only licensed real-world car in Cyberpunk 2077, with a Samurai logo on the rear and vintage 70s/80s style screaming rockerboy legend.

It isn’t the fastest, an honor belonging to Caliburn, but handles well and oozes style. A detailed interior, satisfying engine sound and Johnny’s sarcastic commentary on Night City make driving it one of the game’s best narrative moments.

How to get Johnny’s Porsche:

  1. Complete Tapeworm to unlock Chippin’ In.
  2. Start Chippin’ In and track Jeremiah Grayson to the Ebunike docks.
  3. Fight Grayson aboard the ship.
  4. Spare him when he offers a deal: “[Put weapon away] Got lucky today.”
  5. He gives you a keycard and a marker for Johnny’s shipping container.
  6. Use the nearby crane to lower the container.
  7. Open it with the card to find the Porsche.
  8. Claim the vehicle.

Alternative outcome: Kill Grayson and loot the card to get the car anyway. Both choices work, though sparing him feels more fitting for character development.

Quadra Type-66 “Hoon”

Type-66 Hoon, a free weaponized car honoring Ken Block.
Weaponized Quadra Type-66 Hoon, a Ken Block tribute hidden in a Northside warehouse.

Quadra Type-66 Hoon is CD Projekt’s tribute to rally driver Ken Block, who died in January 2023. The car is an armed beast with two front machine guns and handling tuned for off-road driving and high-speed drifting. Exactly Ken Block’s sort of ride: speed, style and a touch of chaos.

Hoon is genuinely fun, especially if you enjoy ramming barriers and causing havoc. The machine guns aren’t the strongest weapons, but save you getting out to deal with random gang members.

How to get Quadra Type-66 Hoon:

  1. Travel to Northside, Watson, using the northern waterfront fast-travel point.
  2. Head north to the warehouse area.
  3. Find the second warehouse on your left, farther from the road.
  4. Enter to automatically start I’m in Love with My Car.
  5. Find Hoon about halfway inside.
  6. Search the rubbish beside it for keys.
  7. Take the keys and enter the car to claim it.

Interesting facts:

  • A direct tribute to rally driver Ken Block.
  • Two front-mounted machine guns.
  • Excellent off-road and at high speed.
  • One of the earliest accessible weaponized cars.

Thorton Colby CX410 Gran Butte

Thorton Colby CX410 Gran Butte, a free, reliable Badlands vehicle.
This sturdy Thorton Butte comes from Dressed to Kill at the desert film set.

This feels like a genuine secret you stumbled across in the desert. A sturdy ride that’s great for kicking up dust, awarded through a quest most people probably drive straight past.

  1. Go to the Badlands: Head east, slightly south of Medeski Fuel Station.
  2. Find the film set: A classic Western town dropped in the middle of nowhere. Hard to miss.
  3. Trigger the quest: Approaching automatically starts Dressed to Kill.
  4. Take the keys: Follow the short quest’s objective, and the Thorton Colby is yours. Simple.

Scorpion’s Brennan Apollo

Scorpion's Apollo, a custom nomad motorcycle from Panam Palmer.
Scorpion’s custom Apollo, a nomad bike from Panam commemorating your Aldecaldos connection.

This modified Brennan Apollo has history etched into its frame. A real nomad machine, stripped down for performance: luggage mounts and even the front fender removed to save weight.

The short blue-tinted screen and custom Aldecaldos decals make it unmistakable.

How to make sure you get it:

  1. Start Panam’s questline: Join the Aldecaldos story arc, beginning with Riders on the Storm.
  2. Progress to Life During Wartime: Follow her quests. This pivotal mission involves tracking Hellman with Panam.
  3. Finish the mission: See it through. No spoilers, but it’s tense and leads directly to the bike becoming available.
  4. Receive the gift: Panam gives you Scorpion’s bike to honor him and thank you. It’s added permanently to your summonable vehicles, a reminder of your clan connection.

New vehicles in update 2.3

Update 2.3 added vehicles, though some aren’t technically free in the usual sense. They require particular quest chains and purchase thresholds. Once you’ve done the preparatory work, though, they’re available without enormous eddie investments.

Yaiba ASM-R250 “Muramasa”

Yaiba ASM-R250 Muramasa, a sleek motorcycle from update 2.3.
Yaiba Muramasa, a special reward for dedicated vehicle collectors.

This bike’s requirements show you’re a serious collector. A sleek street motorcycle with solid performance and futuristic Yaiba styling.

How to get Muramasa:

  1. Buy at least 1 Yaiba vehicle through AUTOFIXER.
  2. Buy at least 3 AUTOFIXER vehicles in total, from any manufacturers.
  3. Complete Reported Crime: You Play with Fire….
  4. Wait for the Yaiba Muramasa VIP invitation.
  5. Place your 95,000-eddie special order through the invitation system.
  6. Collect the motorcycle at the Corpo Plaza docks.

Yaiba ARV-Q340 “Semimaru”

Red Yaiba ARV-Q340 Semimaru drift car in the Cyberpunk 2077 Badlands.
Earn Yaiba Semimaru by completing the Badlands racing quest Motorbreath.

An ultra-rare, hand-built Yaiba drift car unavailable in showrooms. It has serious edgerunner history involving Mint, a reclusive street racer. Her personal project, built in a back-alley garage and tuned in the Badlands for one purpose: mastering drifting.

A street-racing legend you can now own.

How to get Semimaru:

  • The final reward from Motorbreath, added in update 2.3.
  • Start it at the long, winding road in the southeastern Badlands, where a street race is being prepared.
  • Finish the questline to add the drift car to your garage.

Can console commands unlock vehicles?

On PC, yes. Install Cyber Engine Tweaks if you want to bypass the quest grind. Once running, open its console with tilde (~) and enter commands to unlock vehicles directly. This is mainly for PC users: console editions don’t support direct cheat-code input.

Key vehicle-unlock commands:

  1. Open the console with tilde (~).
  2. Initialize the vehicle system: vs = Game.GetVehicleSystem()
  3. Unlock all vehicles: vs:EnableAllPlayerVehicles()
  4. Unlock a specific vehicle: Game.GetVehicleSystem():EnablePlayerVehicle(«Vehicle.<строка_транспорта>», true, false)

Example vehicle strings:

Porsche 911 II (930) Turbo

“Vehicle.v_sport2_porsche_911turbo_player”

Rayfield Caliburn: black version

“Vehicle.v_sport1_rayfield_caliburn_player”

Quadra Type-66 Hoon

“Vehicle.v_sport2_quadra_type66_nomad_tribute”

Archer Quartz Bandit

“Vehicle.v_standard2_archer_bandit_player”

Yaiba Kusanagi CT-3X

“Vehicle.v_sportbike1_yaiba_kusanagi_player”

Cars appear in your garage without notifications, so check manually that it worked. A little awkward, but useful on your second or third playthrough when you don’t want to repeat the same quest chains.

Are free vehicles worth hunting?

Half of these are excellent: Murk Mobile is the fastest, Sterling and Weiler suit Dogtown’s espionage aesthetic, and Johnny’s Porsche is Johnny’s Porsche. You’re collecting pieces of Night City’s identity. The other half, looking at you, Tanishi T400, are serviceable but forgettable. Their real value is being tied to actual stories.

Johnny’s Porsche carries emotional weight because it’s his car: you’re driving a piece of his past. Phantom Liberty’s spy cars fit the expansion’s themes perfectly. These rewards feel earned rather than random loot.

Answers to other questions

How do I get vehicle offers from fixers?

Vehicle offers depend on Street Cred and completing fixer gigs. More Street Cred opens more purchases. Some cars unlock simply by visiting particular districts or areas: the game recognizes you’ve explored that territory and makes new options available.

Visit fixer territories, do their gigs and wait for messages. Sometimes there’s a delay after completing jobs before offers arrive. Don’t panic if your phone doesn’t start ringing immediately. Give it a day or two, and offers appear.

Why can’t I buy certain cars with maximum Street Cred?

Street Cred isn’t the only gate. Some cars need specific missions, vehicle contracts or story content, rather than just 50 Street Cred and throwing money at fixers. Herrera Outlaw Weiler, for example, requires El Capitan contracts. Other vehicles need Phantom Liberty, regardless of your Street Cred. It can also be a bug, because this is Cyberpunk, but usually you simply need the right quest.

Can I keep stolen cars permanently in my garage?

No. You can’t save stolen vehicles permanently or summon them later. Drive until you abandon them or they’re destroyed, but that random stolen Militech truck won’t enter your garage, however much you want it. Only purchased cars and quest rewards join the list. Annoying, yes, but that’s the system. Buy or earn what you want to keep.

How long until new car offers appear after gigs?

Usually there’s a delay: a few in-game hours, sometimes an entire day. Complete gigs, leave, do other missions and check later. The game doesn’t always immediately register that you’ve finished a fixer’s requirements. If a particular offer is missing, fast travel elsewhere, skip 24 hours and return to the fixer’s territory. That usually refreshes the system and produces new offers.

Must I visit fixers in person for vehicle offers?

No, fixers message you directly once a vehicle becomes available. You don’t have to visit them. Offers arrive on your phone, and purchases can be made remotely through the in-game menus without a face-to-face meeting.
