Cyberpunk 2077’s leveling system works well, but its restrictions are frustrating. The maximum level of 60 prevents you from unlocking every perk, attributes hit their caps, and skills develop more slowly than you would like. The XP and character-leveling mods below address those problems with flexible progression settings, faster skill development, and more character customization options. All are compatible with patch 2.0 or newer.

Better Leveling (Revamp of Custom Level Cap)
A complete leveling overhaul with modular settings. A modern replacement for the outdated Custom Level Cap, giving control over everything from levels to cyberware.

- Custom Level Cap: raise or lower the cap to 300+ levels
- Attribute Cap Unlock – set the maximum attributes above the vanilla 20 points
- Starting Attribute Points – Rebalance the starting pool of points to your playing style
- Cyberware Scaling: dynamically scales Cyberware Capacity with your level
- Bonus Attribute Effects – Hidden Stat bonuses over 20 points (Critical Damage, RAM, Armor, Health)
- Street Cred Cap: increases Street Cred to 500+
- Cyberware Cap – Increase to 100,000+
- Level 61+ Scaling: cumulative health, armor, and stamina increases after level 60
- Full implementation on Lua – does not require Redscript or YAML
- Multilingual UI
✅ How it changes gameplay: complete freedom to tailor the RPG system. Want every attribute and perk maxed? Set the cap to 200+. Prefer more restrained progression with expanded options? Raise it to 80-100. Enable only the modules you need without overwhelming balance. Especially useful for repeat playthroughs with different builds, letting you experiment beyond vanilla restrictions.
Simple XP Multiplier
A lightweight mod with one purpose: customizable multipliers for every XP type in Cyberpunk 2077. Ideal if you simply want faster character leveling, Street Cred, and skill development without complex extra systems.

- Separate multipliers for character XP, Street Cred, crafting, stealth, every weapon XP type, and engineering
- Works on top of the vanilla system – does not add new mechanics, only adjusts the amount of experience received.
- Combines well with mods to increase the maximum level (More Levels, New Level Cap)
- Minimum interference in the balance of the game – convenient for maintaining the atmosphere while accelerating progress
✅ How it changes gameplay: reduces leveling grind without radically changing the game. Adjust XP to your pace: double combat skill XP while leaving crafting unchanged, for example. Especially useful on repeat playthroughs when you do not want to spend dozens of hours developing familiar abilities and perks again.
More Levels
Raises level and Street Cred caps with adjustable XP gain, letting you unlock every perk and maximize attributes without artificial restrictions.

- Customizable maximum level (by default 79, allows you to maximize all attributes and abilities)
- Up to level 200 to unlock and maximize every perk
- Cyberware Capacity scaling: +3 per level, with the option to exceed 500
- Maximum Street Cred of 200, a cosmetic change
- Extended experience curve to level 79 (you can return the vanilla through settings)
✅ How it changes gameplay: removes Cyberpunk 2077’s main restriction on fully developing your character. Vanilla makes you choose builds and sacrifice interesting perks. More Levels permits a versatile fighter or several specialties. Cyberware scaling adds customization through more slots. Warning: removing it after level 60 can cause vendor problems.
Skill Proficiency — Character Leveling — Perk Development
Adds multipliers for skill XP, character XP, and Street Cred, with extra perk points and Cyberware Capacity at progression milestones.

- Multipliers of skill progress with a linear curve (acceleration at the beginning, difficulty at the end for balance)
- Character level multipliers with flexible settings
- Extra perk points and Cyberware Capacity at character and skill milestones
- Retroactive extra points that also work on developed characters
- Sharing experience between related skills (two types of distribution)
- Adjust perk level requirements through the menu
✅ How it changes gameplay: rewards active Cyberpunk 2077 play. Every tenth level or maxed skill brings perk points, creating a constant sense of progress. A linear curve accelerates early levels while retaining later challenge. XP sharing develops related skills together instead of restricting you to one build, useful for experimenting with combat styles.
Experience Plus
Awards extra XP for increased difficulty. Reducing HUD elements improves immersion, while playing without prompts earns bonuses.

- XP bonuses for disabling HUD elements such as the crosshair
- Configurable bonus size through Mod Settings
- Works through standard game settings: Settings → Interface
- Improves immersion and rewards deliberately increasing the difficulty
✅ How gameplay is changing: Mod encourages you to play without interface crutches. You remove the crosshair, you get more experience. Turn off the markers, more bonuses. This changes the perception of Cyberpunk 2077, forcing you to rely on your own skills rather than the game’s hints. Quick leveling in Cyberpunk 2077 becomes a reward for skill, not grind. It’s especially good for replays when you already know the mechanics and want a cleaner visual experience.
New Level Cap
A lightweight mod raising the level cap to 80. Unlock every perk without sacrificing balance, with fixes for vendor problems after level 60.

- Raising the maximum level from 50 to 80
- Ability to unlock and use all perks simultaneously
- Maintaining balance without cheating advantages
- Fixes vendors and loot drops after level 60, resolving problems in earlier mods
- Configurable maximum attribute values
- Lightweight and optimized for minimal impact on performance
✅ How it changes gameplay: New Level Cap offers straightforward access to every perk. Unlike mods with 200+ levels, it preserves progression without turning the game into a sandbox. Level 80 leaves enough room for interesting abilities without becoming all-powerful. Vendor fixes matter: older mods often broke the economy beyond level 60, and this addresses that.
How to install mods for leveling
Most Cyberpunk 2077 XP mods require Cyber Engine Tweaks to run Lua scripts. Download it from Nexus Mods, extract into the game folder, and check that the files are in Cyberpunk 2077/bin/x64/plugins. Some mods also use Native Settings UI for their settings menus.
Once CET is installed, copy the mod’s folder into cyber_engine_tweaks/mods. Launch the game, open the console, usually with ~, and check for loading errors. Settings appear in Mod Settings or console commands, depending on the mod. My Cyberpunk modding guide covers everything step by step.
Develop V to the fullest: choose your leveling mods
These progression mods serve different purposes. Simple XP Multiplier suits minimalists; More Levels and Better Leveling offer full control of XP; Skill Proficiency adds milestone depth; Experience Plus rewards difficulty; and New Level Cap balances freedom and structure.
For mods improving the rest of the game, my complete mod collection covers each category with detailed descriptions.
If I missed an XP or reputation mod, write to me. I will test it and may add it to the list. New ways to improve Cyberpunk 2077’s leveling are always interesting.
