That’s me! 🙂
About Dafy
I’m Dafy (My real name is Danila). I’ve been playing games since 1999, exploring many different worlds and ways to play over the years. This blog, Dafy Gaming Hub, is where I write about my gaming adventures. I write what I want, the way I want to. Think of it as Gonzo journalism but in the world of video games. For me, playing games means more than just sitting down and playing; it also involves thinking about them, talking about why they work, and sharing what makes some games feel special.
Everything you find here, from the articles and thoughts to the pictures and videos, comes from a player’s point of view. I’m most interested in RPGs, strategy games, action RPGs, and MMOs. These types of games often have lore that make you think, choices that matter, and worlds built with lots of detail. My goal is to look closely at what makes games tick, whether I’m figuring out how a game’s systems work or capturing its look and feel with screenshots.
When I’m not gaming, I like reading fantasy books, especially The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit by Tolkien. These stories are great at building detailed worlds, and I think that’s why I like games that do the same. My taste in music is pretty wide. I listen to heavy metal and folk rock bands like Rammstein, In Extremo, Black Sabbath, and The Dubliners. I also like alternative bands like Red Hot Chili Peppers, electronic stuff from Parov Stelar, and sometimes jazz, post-punk, or 90s hip-hop like 2pac.

You can find some of my favorite songs (not only rock and metal ones) in the dedicated playlist
My Gaming Journey
Playing games since 1999 means I’ve seen a lot of changes in the gaming world. My views were shaped by early RPGs like the Gothic games, Morrowind, Baldur’s Gate, Kotor, and Diablo. Newer games like The Witcher 3, Red Dead Redemption 2, Kingdom Come: Deliverance, Pillars of Eternity, and Baldur’s Gate 3 continue that feeling of enjoying deep character growth and good stories.
In strategy games, the thinking needed in series like Total War (Rome, Warhammer), Warcraft 2,3, and Age of Empires gives you different kinds of puzzles to solve. Games like Kenshi or Mount & Blade: Bannerlord create their own sorts of stories just by how you play them. And MMOs, like World of Warcraft, bring together playing with others, making your character grow over time, and being in game worlds that keep changing. Lok’tar Ogar!
The settings I like most in games are often medieval times and fantasy worlds, where realistic things and made-up stories sometimes come together.
Why This Blog Exists
This site is here to give a specific look at games, focusing on what’s really there instead of just the first glance. You can expect content based on these ideas. Here are some of the things you’ll find:
- Game reviews that aim to be direct. I won’t give games scores that are higher than they should be or hide what I really think. I’ll tell you plainly what I think about how the game plays, the decisions the people who made it made, how the story feels, and if the game feels like it’s worth your time. If a game shows respect for the player’s time and intelligence, I’ll say so; if it doesn’t, I’ll tell you why.
- Modding guides and collection of the best mods. Changing games with mods is a big part of playing on PC these days. I’ll cover how mods change the way a game plays, how it looks, or its main rules, not just give you a list of mods to download.
- Gaming guides and practical tips. I’ll focus on what actually helps you play better, not just filler. Whether it’s understanding core systems, learning how to survive early-game pitfalls, or mastering mechanics that the game barely explains, I provide guides grounded in experience. No fluff just useful knowledge you can apply right away.
- Screenshots and wallpapers. You’ll find high-quality screenshots that show games as they actually look during regular play, not just carefully staged promotional shots. I focus on capturing moments that represent the genuine visual experience – both the impressive scenes and the mundane ones that make up most of your playtime. The wallpapers I share come from actual gameplay, showing off the game’s art direction and visual design in ways that feel authentic. When I include screenshots in reviews or guides, they’re chosen to illustrate specific points about gameplay, visual quality, or technical performance, not just to fill space.

Core Ideas
How I look at games comes from a few basic ideas about how games should be made. These are some of the principles guiding my thoughts:
- The rules matter most. The basic rules and how things work together in a game are its foundation. Having a clear plan behind how a game is built is more interesting than just having a bunch of separate features.
- What’s inside is more important than the look. Games need to look and sound good, but that can’t fix a game that doesn’t have much depth or isn’t fun to play over time.
- Challenges should make you think. Being difficult should happen because the game’s systems are designed well, making you think and plan. It shouldn’t be because of random problems or unfair rules. If a game is too easy to guess, the choices you make don’t feel as important.
Favorite Games & Genres
- RPGs – Whether turn-based, open-world, or action-heavy, anything with deep character progression and immersive storytelling is a win.
- Strategy Games – From grand strategy to real-time tactics, planning and execution are what make these games addicting.
- Action & Adventure – Fast combat, engaging exploration, and well-crafted worlds define this category.
- MMOs – The social aspect, the grind, and the constantly evolving gameplay keep MMOs in a league of their own.
Favorite settings? Medieval history and fantasy. The mix of realism and myth creates some of the best narratives in gaming, whether it’s historical war simulations or high-fantasy epics filled with magic and intrigue.
Showing the Gameplay: Making Screenshots and Videos
Besides gaming and creating content for this blog, I spend time taking screenshots while I play and also I make videos/edits on my Pinterest. This means finding the right angle, the right light, and the perfect moment to really capture how a game looks and feels. You’ll find some of these screenshots shown on the site, for more – welcome to my Pinterest. I also collect cool art made by other fellow gamers!
